After the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which aired live January 15th, 2010 on VH1, many of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities joined in on the celebrations at the official after-party held at the trendy Katsuya Restaurant in Hollywood, hosted by Heifer International donors, Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri.
Star-studded Evening
The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which kick off the movie awards season, is generally regarded as a crucial forecaster for the Academy Awards. The awards show was hosted by Emmy and Tony-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth and held at the Hollywood Palladium.
Nominees included films such as “Inglorious Bastards,” “Nine,” “Avatar,” “Precious,” “Up” in addition to actors George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and many more. (See winners below) Renowned actor and philanthropist Kevin Bacon was presented with the third annual Joel Siegel Award by Meryl Streep.
Party Hollywood-style
The official after-party, brought together A-list talent and more than 100 Broadcast Film Critics for a night of celebration. Put on by VH1, it is considered one of the most intimate events of the season, not to mention one of the most anticipated industry parties of the year.
This year was no exception, as guests enjoyed a long night of dancing, mingling and enjoying specialty drinks from top spirit sponsors such as Heineken, Grey Goose Vodka, and Champagne Taittinger, while having the opportunity to learn about the good work of CCMA cause partner Heifer International from Susan Sarandon, Eva Amurri and Heifer staff.
Solving World Hunger with Heifer
For the second year, The Broadcast Film Critics Association has designated Heifer International as its official cause partner for the evening. Susan Sarandon, Eva Amurri and the BFCA are all Heifer donors, and are committed to spreading the word about Heifer’s mission to end world hunger while caring for the earth. Since 1944, Heifer has helped over 60 million people become self reliant through gifts of farm animals and training in sustainable agriculture. Every recipient of an animal from Heifer agrees to pass on the gift, sharing their animal’s offspring and training with another family in need, so that one gift to Heifer ripples outward through an entire community.
Critics’ Choice Movie Awards
The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are bestowed annually by the BFCA to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Since its inception in 1995, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards has been a star-studded event of the awards season and historically, the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.
