Carbon water and on-site recycling at Fashion Week? Oh yes, being green was the hottest  trend at the Spring 2010 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week held last month in New York City. O.N.E Water, as the official sponsor of the glamorous event, was a prime example of Fashion Week’s eco-consciousness. O.N.E. Water, which offered 500 ml / 16.9 oz of water in Tetra Pak cartons, were sampled to the guests attending shows, backstage and inside the tents throughout the week. This sponsorship marks the first time that carton water was an official water sponsor.

“One can’t get through MBFW without lots of hydration…so it was especially exciting for us to be introducing all attendees to O.N.E. Water. Offering an eco-chic healthy water to all our fashion industry guests who thankfully are becoming more aware and conscious of sustainable products, will make a lot of fashionistas very happy,” commented Fern Mallis, Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion.

Clean Water for All

Established in 2005, O.N.E. World Enterprises was created to fulfill the growing demand for nutritional products in the U.S. market by providing a line of intelligently packaged and healthier beverage alternatives, including coconut water and other natural juices. The company launched O.N.E. Water nationwide in late May 2009.  Currently, O.N.E. Water is available for purchase in various specialty retailers as well as on Amazon.com.

O.N.E. is dedicated to the belief that access to clean water is a fundamental human right.  Therefore, they donate 100 percent of the profits from O.N.E. Water (after operating expenses) to non-profit organizations.  In fact, O.N.E selects 10 to 15 non-profits annually to receive funds from the sales of O.N.E. Water.  Consumers can select the charity of their choice by casting their vote directly on the O.N.E. Web site.

Sustainability

O.N.E. Water is 100 percent pure, comes from a sustainable source in Canada and is packaged in Tetra Pak cartons made mainly from paper, a renewable resource.

“We are thrilled to offer attendees at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week a new packaged water concept,” said Rodrigo Veloso, Founder & CEO of O.N.E.  “Packaged in BPA-free Tetra Pak cartons, O.N.E. Water is a great alternative to on-the-go water consumption.  In fact, O.N.E. produces all its beverages in carton packaging because of its tremendous benefits.”

Fashionistas Recycle Too

Tetra Pak, the company behind the carton packages utilized by numerous brands for a variety of food products including broth, wine, juice and milk and more, will also be making its debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where they will be facilitating on-site recycling.
