Since ancient times, people have been fascinated by old diaries and journals. There were the Viking Runes, Egyptian Hieroglyphics, and so many other vestiges of a long lost civilization, hand painted on the walls of caves by early man, or crafted by wizards, or possibly even by extraterrestrials.

Voices from an ancient people are compelling and emphasize some of our very best modern day books and scripts. They speak of how they could conjure spirits, cast spells, cure illnesses, and foretell the future.

Before the age of television, curses, gods and demons were common tales in those distant pages of time. Vampire stories date back to nomadic tribes and tradesmen. The lore has changed somewhat from body or soul snatching to the blood sucking creatures of modern tales.

Although there is no real historical evidence that Merlin the Wizard existed, Arthurian legends written by those wonderful clerics and poets of the medieval era continue to live in an updated new drama series, NBC.com – Merlin which premiered on June 21st. Rumor has it that the show might get cancelled but don’t worry Merlin’s magic lives on in a 13 part series on BBC One starring Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Prince Arthur, Anthony Head as King Uther, Richard Wilson as Gaius, Katie McGrath as Morgana, Angel Coulby as Gwen, and John Hurt as the voice of the Great Dragon. The CW will present an all time favorite tale based a series of books by L.J. Smith, The Vampire Diaries on Thursday September 10.

Do you have a real life story to tell of Wizards spell or a Vampire bite?
