Hut one, hut two! Flag football is alive and well among the rich and famous. In Malibu on Friday, July 24th, celebrities and NFL hall-of-famers came together in a friendly, yet competitive game complete with team jerseys to celebrate the launch of Xbox 360 and EA SPORTS Madden NFL 10 on Xbox 360 – in the Madden NFL 10Pigskin Pro-Am.
Foolin’ Around
In place of the traditional coin toss to determine which team kicked off the game, team captains Jeremy Piven and Kevin Dillon arm-wrestled. Maria Menounos turned an expertly executed cartwheel during her entrance to the field, while NFL legend Jerry Rice gave Kelly Rowland “throwing tips†during warm-ups. On the sidelines Mark Paul Gosselaar, Brody Jenner (who arrived with his Playmate of the Year girlfriend, Jayde Nicole) and Donald Faison planned their strategies with football greats Marshall Faulk, John Elway, Joe Montana, and Barry Sanders. Nick Lachey, who arrived solo, attended as a VIP guest and was in awe of Montana, Elway and Rice, who he called his “idols.â€
Stars and Athletes for Xbox 360
Sam Trammell (True Blood), Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), Alison Sweeney (The Biggest Loser), and Brooke Burke (who brought her daughter) warmed up their muscles with squats, sprints and jumps, while Jesse McCartney warmed up his voice to sing the National Anthem. The game, which was light in nature with lots of harmless trash talking, primarily from Maria Menounos, Jerry Rice, Marcus Allen, and Josh Henderson, celebrated the upcoming launch of much anticipated Madden NFL 10 on Xbox 360. Everyone dressed in their respective team colors (red and blue), with football jerseys, black shorts, sneakers and loads of sunscreen. By the end, there was sweat, sunburns, bum knees, smiles and high-fives.
