Whether they’re soft, hard, freshly baked, packaged, or filled with chocolate chips and nuts, everyone loves to munch on cookies. However, because of various food allergens, not everyone is able to enjoy these tasty treats that bring such delicious pleasure. This is where HomeFree Cookies, a new brand of organic, ready-to-eat, whole grain cookies that are free of common food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, dairy and eggs, comes in.

Jill Robbins, a clinical psychologist and author of “Allergen Free Baking”, founded HomeFree Cookies and turned to baking when her son was diagnosed with severe food allergies. Jill’s goal is to create delicious, wholesome treats that her son and everyone with or without food allergies, can enjoy together. Jill’s company aspires to make a variety of cookies and coffee cakes in a dedicated baking facility, where allergen testing on ingredients and random product batches can be conducted to ensure that each product is free of common food allergens.

HomeFree cookies are certified organic, certified whole grain (each cookie serving contains at least ½ serving of whole grains), free of peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, and trans fat or cholesterol, and are fine for most people allergic to wheat (not gluten-free; contain oats).  They are also okay for most people allergic to soy (most cookies contain soy lecithin), they are baked and packaged in a dedicated bakery where they are allergen tested, and perhaps most importantly they are without corn sweeteners, artificial colors, artificial flavors, MSG, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Lastly, HomeFree cookies are certified vegan (oatmeal cookies, and coffee cakes) and certified kosher pareve.

HomeFree cookies are available in a variety of flavors including chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip, and oatmeal (6.3 ounce boxes), as well as mini chocolate chip, mini chocolate chocolate chip, and the new mini oatmeal chocolate chip.  Individually wrapped cookies are $1.79 each or $16.90 for a case of 12.

HomeFree cookies carry a suggested price of $4.99 per box at more than 200 retail locations nationwide such as select Whole Foods and Shaw’s stores throughout New England, as well as at a growing number of institutions such as schools, camps, and sporting venues.

HomeFree cookies are also available at $5.49 per box (plus shipping and handling) through the company’s website, as well as coffee cakes and specialized allergen-tested baking ingredients:
