“Green with Music” raised green in more ways than one at their eco-friendly celebrity gifting suite, spa retreat and fund raising gala February 6, 2009. The fabulous gifting suite and Spa Tibet were hosted at the stunning, sustainable penthouses of The Mercury in Los Angeles, honoring music’s stars for the 2009 Grammy® Awards.dharmata president Beverly Visty Doman sits in lobby of downtown's green Mercury building.

“We are grateful for the pioneering green brands and healthy lifestyle practices leading the way to our sustainable future!” said dharmata president and Green with Music co-founder Beverly Visty-Doman. “This year’s Green With Music will provided a sanctuary for music’s biggest stars to chill before the Grammys, luxuriate in Spa Tibet and experience the finest and most innovative green lifestyle products. We were also really excited to welcome the public to the evening party, which helped raise funds and awareness for Wherever the Need“.

The all-green, sustainable eco-fabulous retreat and spa during the Grammy® Awards, Green with Music sought to merge celebrity culture and spa experiences with green brands to encourage and inspire healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

Getting and Giving

Manos Singh and Lara JohnsonThe evening’s eco party featured organic cocktails and cuisine, DJ, and green product samplings, with live performances by Lara Johnston (VH1’s “Rock the Cradle”) and Manose Singh (Deval Primal). The goal of the gala was to raise money for Wherever the Need (WTN), a charitable organization whose core aim is to provide clean drinking water, sanitation, livelihood and empowerment to people around the world. A facilitator for individuals in developing countries, WTN helps people take control of their lives and work their way out of poverty.

Founded in 1997, WTN began its work by delivering aid to the Chernobyl region in Ukraine. WTN then turned its attention to HIV/AIDS stricken Africa, and over time identified the underlying problem facing many of the people they were helping: a shortage of clean water and toilet facilities, and the inevitable onset of intestinal problems and debilitating disease.

  • Plastic bottles are a growing problem in our landfills and oceans. We felt that something needed to be done……and now.

We felt that plastics made from crops that could be producing food, wasn’t the answer. Many reports indicate that in addition to causing our food process to rise, the equipment and chemicals used to produce food based bio-fuel may be increasing pollution.

We knew that there wasn’t going to be one “fix it all” answer and began to wonder if anything was ever going to be done. The problem was growing every day, more bottles were being manufactured and more bottles were accumulating in places where we didn’t need them.

We were wondering if “Earth Friendly Bottles” would ever be available?

That’s why we decided to do our part and started ENSO Bottles. We are partnering with other companies to offer a PET plastic bottle that will biodegrade, compost or recycle.

Our bottles can be produced in a clear or colored version, however, clear version isn’t quite as clear as current PET plastic bottles but then again that’s one way to identify our earth friendly bottle.

ENSO is trying to achieve sustainability with our plastic bottles. Our goal is to make bottles that won’t have the adverse impact on our environment and are made from non food bio-fuels.

We haven’t started making them from bio-fuel but that’s high on our agenda and hopefully will be something we can offer in the future.

But for now, we offer a plastic bottle that is earth friendly…it’s just one step but if we all take just one step toward improving our planet….we will make a difference.
