Jd Webb – Bringing Romance Back to Music
Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, Jd Webb is known to captivate audiences with his soulful voice and charismatic performance style. Noted as a "prolific songwriter" by both Rolling Stone and CCM Magazine and an esteemed recipient of Billboard Magazine’s "Stamp of Approval," Webb has already shown his significance in the music industry. He has been critically-acclaimed with his former group projects, one of which was the popular band Raze. He has performed before tens of thousands at sold out tours in the United States, as well as internationally.
Webb’s music career has been quite a journey and after much tenacity, now, Webb has recorded his debut solo project and as a multi-faceted artist with the ability to cross all generational, cultural and social boundaries through his songs. Jd says his sexy sound is “R&B-Soul with a pop sensibility.”

Bringing romance back to music is what Webb is about, “I feel like most guys don’t know how to romance a lady and most women don’t insist or expect it. Being a hopeless romantic, I love the poetry of chivalry,” shares Webb. “Making great music is all about the magic. I take a song, add killer beats and make it pop.”
Now, after being courted by major labels, Webb has decided to pursue his solo career through the up and coming record label Infinite Music Group. Prior to the release of his self-produced debut solo album “The Introduction,” set for release February 10, 2009, Webb will be nationally releasing a Christmas single titled, “Everything I Need This Christmas” to be released November 28, 2008.
LA’s The Place got to the chance to chat with this talented and may we add, handsome musician.
LATP: Why did you decide to release a Christmas song?
JDW: I love Christmas, it’s my favorite time of year. I’m the guy that only plays Christmas music beginning the day after Thanksgiving through the New Year. It’s a special time you can celebrate with music.
LATP: Why not a whole Christmas album?
JDW: I probably have enough material for a whole Christmas album, but with "The Introduction" deadline, we didn’t have enough time. So hopefully I will have a full Christmas album next year!
LATP: After hearing your new material, we hope so!
LAP: Do you perform much in LA?
JDW: I was performing in LA a lot until the recording process began; now I basically live in the studio.
LATP: What can we expect of your upcoming debut album?
JDW: The upcoming CD takes you on a journey through love. The highs, the lows, the butterflies and the heartbreak. It’s a soulful, very musical album. My goal was to make a CD that you could listen to start to finish instead of having to skip to the three good songs.
LATP: Why did you title your debut album “The Introduction?”
JDW: Even though I’ve been in the game for a while, I feel like this is the introduction to the music that I’ve always wanted to put out.
LATP: What’s next for JD in 2009?
JDW: 2009 will consist of a lot of touring and also developing artists on my new label that are bringing musicality back to music. It’s going to be a fun year!
