On Saturday October 6th, 2008, the 6th annual Eyegore Horror Awards, which celebrates the triumphant accomplishments made by directors, actors, and writers in the horror film genre, jump-started Universal Studios yearly electrifying and nightmare-inspiring “Halloween Horror Nights”.

The illustrious Roger Corman, director of over 400 movies, producer, and 2007 Eyegore Award beneficiary, and Ogre from the rock band “Skinny Puppy” were a few of this year’s presenters, while Corey Feldman, star of the Lost Boys and Lost Boys 2, graciously served as the Master of Ceremony. Julie Benz, star of the anticipated “Saw V” and Showtime’s “Dexter”, and Toby Hooper, director of “Poltergeist” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” were deservedly dubbed the 2008 Eyegore Horror Awards honorees. Bill Moseley, who starred in Rob Zombie’s “The Devil’s Rejects” and “House of 1000 Corpses”, also later received an award. Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Tilly, Janet Leigh, Karen Black, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Clive Barker have all been previous winners of Eyegore awards.

“Halloween Horror Nights” is known for employing immensely talented special effect and scenic artists to create a truly petrifying experience that will have their guests literally jumping in terror and laughing at the same time. Even more exciting, for the first time the “Terror Tram Nightmare Tour” will exclusively display “The Wolfman” on the tram’s LCD screen, while trekking through ghoulishly scary mazes, stopping over at the “Psycho” house, and detouring through the “War of the Worlds” movie set. The return of popular horror characters, Jason Voorhees of “Friday the 13th” and Leatherface of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, drew horror movie fans from all over California seeking to walk through the hair-raising mazes and experience a horror-transformed Universal Studios firsthand. The roller-coaster “WaterWorld”, was cleverly transformed into “Slaughter World”, while “The Simpson’s Ride”, “Jurassic Park”, and “Revenge of the Mummy” all received their respective make-overs.
