Mariah Carey’s Appearance at Universal Studio’s Citywalk
Mariah graced the Universal Studios Citywalk with her presence yesterday when she donated a few items to the Hard Rock Cafe, and had an autograph signing session for her new CD, E=MC 2. I am thinking that one of the things she donated was a watch because she was two hours late for the event…

After listening to her music blasting for four hours over the PA system, and watching the same videos over and over, they were so stuck in my head, it will take a trip to Disneyland and a few rides on ‘It’s a Small World’ to get them out of my head. I know ‘It’s a Small World’ is an ingratiating tune, but it is less irritating than the music I heard yesterday. It is either that or gouging my ears out with a red hot poker. Tough choice.

When the crowd, most of whom had been waiting 12 hours or more began to boo her, she finally came out the door of the Hard Rock Cafe. Displaying a diva attitude, not seen since Marie Antoinette, she walked the Red Carpet.

She took the walk like it was an Olympic event, racing through the photographers and trying for the world record at the same time. I think she got it, but I didn’t see her break the ribbon when she crossed the finish line.
Then she graciously greeted the handicapped fans in a special section. There weren’t that many, so that didn’t take very long. Once that chore was done, she jumped on the stage and posed, so we could all bask in her presence. By that time, I was all basked out, so I was very happy when she finally sat down, and started signing. Last I heard, she was still there at 11:30pm and they were wheeling fans to her on hand trucks.
I am sure that it was a very good day for her. There has to be a sense of pride knowing that thousands of people will give up one full day of their lives, just so they can spend a few seconds with you, and to have you scratch some illegible markings on a forgettable CD. Ah, divahood has its privileges.
