Celebrate BritWeek 2008 with the BAFTA/L.A. British Comedy Festival

British Airways presents the BAFTA/LA British Comedy Festival and Awards Gala at the Four Seasons on Thursday, May 1, 2008, honoring the best in British T.V. and Film. Twelve T.V. shows and twelve films were initially screened, before being whittled down to the main finalists for each category. The final nominated films and TV shows can be viewed by the public at the Writer’s Guild of America and the Director’s Guild of America from April 28 – April 30, 2008.

Monday, April 28: BAFTA/LA Comedy Awards finalist screening (one each of top Film and top TV Show) at the Writers Guild of America

Tuesday, April 29: BAFTA/LA Comedy Awards finalist screening (one each of top Film and top TV Show) at the Writers Guild of America

Wednesday, April 30: BAFTA/LA Comedy Awards finalist screening (one each of top Film and top TV Show) at the Directors Guild of America

Thursday, May 1: BAFTA/LA Comedy Awards Gala at the Four Seasons, Beverly Hills

Nominated films are:
• Hot Fuzz
 Magicians
• Run, Fatboy, Run
Nominated T.V. Shows are:
• Extras
• Gavin & Stacey
• Little Britain
• I.T. Crowd
Nominated Performers are:
• Simon Pegg
• Harry Hill
• Mitchell and Webb

The voting panel for the film category will include Judd Apatow, Adam, Shankman, Jake Kasdan, Nicholas Stoller, Elizabeth Guider (Hollywood Reporter) and Steve Gavdos (Variety).

The voting panel for the television category will include Bill Hilary, Al Jean, Greg Daniels, Jeff Ingold, David Kissinger, Mike Scully, Mike Schur, Dana Walden, Wendy Trilling and Jane Wiserman

In addition to the main categories, a comedic actor/actress will be awarded the Charlie Chaplin Lifetime Achievement Award.

The BAFTA/LA British Comedy Festival is part of BritWeek 2008, created by 19 Entertainment President Nigel Lythgoe.
