Indie diva Chantele DiBrava takes on the role of pop-arazzi and dishes it out to Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears in two new songs; music fans take notice and give the song “Britney Spears: The True Hollywood Story” over 200,000 plays on MySpace in the first week of release.

On Monday February 4, 2008 independent recording artist Chantele DiBrava released a new song aimed to demystify the glamour of being in the public eye for the young Hollywood hopefuls of tomorrow. Her most recent release “Britney Spears: The True Hollywood Story”, has received a growing 201,750 plays since being posted on. The song is the second of its kind to be released by Chantele, it follows the track “Lindsay Lohan: The True Hollywood Story”. The two songs receive a growing average of 25,000 plays daily on http://www.myspace.com/thetruehollywoodstory/.

The new tracks offer an uncensored look into the pitfalls of celebrity life. Chantele explains, “I want to be a voice in the industry that calls out celebrities and so-called role models for what they truly are behind the make-up and entourage.”

Chantele is based in New York City however her fans know her from the Internet. She has been generating buzz from her MySpace pages because of her unusual look, true-to-self personality and extraordinary 5-octave talent in singing and performing. Chantele’s online success has translated into a demanding tour schedule. Many venues book her because she can generate a large turnout based on her impressive online following. Chantele has over 2.9 million hits on her MySpace page to date. She says, “In order to last in the music business you must have a loyal fan base. I think the reason my fan base continues to grow is because beneath the pop surface my lyrics have honest messages.”
Performance-wise Chantele is best known for her high energy and engaging stage presence. “Chantele can really belt out some of them notes,” writes David deLeon of IMPOSE Magazine.  Performing is nothing new for Chantele as she has been singing and dancing on stage since she was a child. She wants other aspiring musicians and dancers to know that it takes a lot of hard work to make it in the music industry and anyone who says it came easy is lying.

Lately pop stars are receiving a lot of attention for driving under the influence, trips to rehab, fatal overdoses and excessive partying. Chantele says that her upbringing has kept her grounded, and if it was not for her strong relationships with family she fears she could have followed in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. “Family is so important. You’ve got to listen to your parents, even when it is hard to hear. The celebrities that are self-destructing lack guidance and support,” says Chantele.

Chantele plans on producing more celebrity-themed songs and is eager to perform them on stage for her growing audience. “Chantele is in her element when she is on stage, we are excited for her upcoming national tour,” says her manager Ken Stewart of KSM Firm Worldwide.
Chantele originally hails from Rhode Island and Connecticut by way of the Portuguese Cape Verdi Islands. With influences from 80’s new wave, punk, brit-pop, reggae and freestyle, Chantele’s music is bursting with energy and youthful flair. Her style has been touted as a "Blondie meets Gwen Stefani". Chantele’s first single “Turn Me On” featuring Jim Jones made it to the Top 25 on the MySpace Music Charts and reached Number 1 on the Digiwaxx D.J. charts. For the number 1 position on Digiwaxx, Chantele beat out noteworthy platinum recording artists Fat Joe (Virgin records), R Kelly (Jive/Zomba), T.I. (Atlantic), and Lil Wayne (Cash Money/Universal).
