Los Angeles Magazine Looking for L.A.’s Best Trendsetters - Enter Now!
Los Angeles magazine is busy looking for individuals who thrive on being a trendsetter. The magazine’s Style Star of Tomorrow contest – celebrating the Tastemakers exhibition – is offering a wonderful opportunity to showcase your art, music, design, photography and style industries.
The Tastemakers Exhibition, defined as a designer or artist whose work or personal style sets a new standard or trend, will feature L.A. style setters in fashion, design and the arts.
As the Style Director for Los Angeles Magazine, Laurie Pike has been spotlighting L.A.’s trendsetting talent since the 2006 launch of her column, and the tastemakers are finally joining together for a wonderful showcase of their work.
Thursday, February 21st is the day to wow the judges at the magazine’s headquarters –between 9:00 a.m – 3:00 p.m. - with the auditions airing on The KTLA Morning Show on Wednesday, March 12th. Entrants will be given a chance to show their portfolios and participate in filmed interviews to possibly air later on a morning news show.
Viewers of The KTLA Morning Show will have a chance to vote for one of three finalists, while the winner will be announced on the program on Friday, March 14th.
On Tuesday, March 18th, the winner will join Los Angeles magazine Tastemakers at a VIP Tastemakers exhibition kick-off party catered by The Foundry on Melrose’s chef/owner Eric Greenspan.
The Exhibition will take place from Wednesday, March 19th – Sunday, March 30th at a temporary gallery space at the Hollywood and Highland Center. Open to the public daily from noon – 6:00 p.m., admission is free of charge.
