Hope Wine Donates $40,000 to Charity in its First Year
Hope Wine, a product line consisting of coastal California Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which are all produced and bottled in Sonoma County, has donated $10,000 in cash and over $30,000 in wine to charities in its first year.
Eight young professionals, all under the age of thirty, came together to create and establish this line to spread awareness and raise funds for various charities that have personally been effected by.
Chardonnay is partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, supporting breast cancer, Merlot is partnered with AIDS/Lifecycle, supporting AIDS awareness and Cabernet Sauvignon is partnered with ACT TODAY! supporting autism.
The 2006 Hope Chardonnay received the Bronze Medal at the Taster’s Guild Wine Lover’s Consumer Competition.
The 2005 Hope Merlot received the Silver Medal at the Long Beach Grand Cru and the Bronze Medal at the Taster’s Guild Wine Lover’s Consumer Competition.
The 2005 Hope Cabernet Sauvignon received the Silver Medal at the Taster’s Guild Wine Lover’s Consumer Competition.
Hope Wine is currently served at restaurants, wine shops, wine bars and hotels throughout California, and is also available in over 150 retail outlets throughout the state, including Whole Foods and Costco. The line will be expanded to various other states including New York, Illinois, Oregon, Florida, Texas, Arizona and Washington by the end of 2008.
“Our goal is to provide the average wine drinker a great wine at a great value while giving the consumer the opportunity to support a great cause," said Jake Kloberdanz, founder and CEO of Hope Wine.
With the company continuing to grow, a donation of over $300,000 is projected by the end of 2008, and over $900,000 by the end of 2009.
