Presented by the City Ballet of Los Angeles, this is a unique performance of the holiday classic, "The Nutcracker," as it is set in Hancock Park in 1942, exploring Los Angeles’ diverse culture and the people living here.
With a performance taking place on December 22nd at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in L.A., this is a great opportunity to see the City Ballet of Los Angeles in this classic ballet, performed alongside Kim Eung Hwa Korean Dance Theatre & Grandez Mexicana Folk Ballet Company.
The ballet takes place in the home of the Shook family, where they host a special party every holiday season for the Los Angeles Orphanage. Maria, a girl who lived at the orphanage until she was “too old,” now resides with the Shook family and works as their housekeeper. Maria’s secret is her interest in the oldest son of the family, Jim, who she is thrilled about seeing as he returns home from war just in time for the holiday party.
