TOTAL POP STAR, the world’s first and biggest on-line singing competition has arrived! TOTALPOPSTAR.com is putting out the call to anyone who thinks they’ve got what it takes to be a Total Pop Star. Utilizing the appeal of the internet and merging it with the ever-hot music industry, TOTAL POP STAR seeks to uncover the next singing sensation from amidst the masses takes them from being an unknown and launch them into superstardom! Celebrity judges for TOTAL POP STAR are Joey Lawrence, Deborah Gibson and Andrew Van Slee.

The TOP 6  finalists will be flown to Hollywood for two weeks to shoot a reality show which will be aired on the site. All expenses and accomodations will be covered. The winner will receive a recording contract and prizes worth over $150,000.00.

No waiting in line for hours, no in-your-face rejection, and best of all, no Simon Cowell to face! All you have to do to enter TOTAL POP STAR is create a profile and upload a singing video onto the TOTAL POP STAR site. -         Contestants may enter from anywhere in the world.
-         Contestants must be a minimum of 13 years of age.
-          Songs may be any genre or style of music.
-          Songs must be sung in the English language.
-          Songs may be original or a cover.
-          Performances may NOT be lip-synched – must be recorded live.
-          Songs may be acapella or performed with live accompaniment.
-          Entries received after May 18, 2008 will be entered in the next competition.

The Power to Win Fans

In order to move to the next phase, a contestant can accumulate 1,000 fan votes on their profile to prove their power to win fans.

-         Vote count will be displayed on each profile.
-         Popular profiles will be featured more prominently on the site.

Finalists

After earning 1000 votes, a contestant becomes a FINALIST.

-.        All finalists qualify for evaluation by the TOTAL POP STAR judging panel.
-         All finalists will upload a short bio video approximately 2 minutes in length.
-         All finalists should be prepared to upload up to 2 more videos upon the judges’      request.
-         Judges reserve the right to promote any contestant to finalist status based upon talents and regardless of votes.

Into the Fire
Our TOTAL POP STAR judges will single out the best of the best and the worst of the worst as the competition goes from hot to blistering.

-         The judges will score each contestant video entry on a scale of 1 to 100 total possible points.
-         The following judging criteria will be applied to each video; Performance Skills (25%), Musicianship (25%), Star Personality (25%) and Entertainment Value (25%).
-         A random sample of contestants will have the judges’ evaluation commentary shot and uploaded to the site.
-         Judging commentary on a “Best of the Worst” category will also be shot and uploaded.

The TOP 6

Throughout a twelve-day voting period lasting from May 19, 2008 – May 30, 2008 (midnight), contestants and fans alike will cast their votes online and via text messaging for the TOP 6 contestants.

-        Each member can vote one time per Device ID.
-        Anyone may text message an un-limited number of votes.
-         One text message equals 50 votes.
-         The judges will deliberate on the TOP 6 contestants throughout the week of May 31, 2008 – June 4, 2008.
-         The judges will decide upon the potential TOP 6 on June 4, 2008.
-          The potential TOP 6 must respond to the producers with their acceptance between June 4, 2008 and June 6, 2008.
-         If potential TOP 6 contestants do not respond, alternates will be selected from runners-up.
-         TOP 6 will be announced by June 16, 2008.

The Reality Show

In mid June 2008, the TOP 6 Contestants will be flown, all expenses paid, to Hollywood, CA. Once in Hollywood, the contestants will:

-         Have living accommodations paid by TOTAL POP STAR
-         Begin their In-Studio recording sessions
-         And work hand in hand with the TOTAL POP STAR Judges.

In the Studio

Throughout the week of June 16, 2008 – June 20, 2008, the TOTAL POP STAR camera crew will capture the drama as the TOP 6 lay it all on the line under the uncompromising eyes of our celebrity judges at the world renowned Glenwood Place Studios.
-         Interviews with the judges on the progress of each contestant will also be shot.
-         The best of these videos will be uploaded and featured on the site daily.
-         At the end of the week in-studio, each contestant will do a final presentation of a song.
-         The TOP 6 will be flown home on June 29, 2007.

Moment of Truth

-         Final performances will be posted on the site for a concluding round of fan voting.
-         The final round of voting will last from June 23 - 26, 2008 (midnight).

Winner Announced – June 27th, 2008

After due deliberation and the consideration of total on-line votes, the celebrity judges will determine the winner of TOTAL POP STAR. Lavished with a record contract and prizes worth over $150,000, the TOTAL POP STAR winner’s career will be launched into SUPERSTARDOM!!!!
