Hollywood and Highland Center Host Free Holiday Event for LA’s Foster Children
The Christmas season is upon us. The Hollywood & Highland Center is hosting its annual Holiday Celebration to benefit L.A.’s foster care children.
There are many young children who don’t have the warm and loving family life that most take for granted. The event will benefit CASA of Los Angeles (www.casala.org), the non-profit organization that supports abused and neglected foster care children in court and in the community.
It will begin with Santa Claus kicking off the festive holiday season with the lighting of Hollywood & Highland Center’s giant 35-foot Christmas Tree in the outdoor Central Courtyard.
Kimberly Caldwell of American Idol along with the TV Guide Network will host this this free family event. Guests will enjoy an outdoor movie screening of the holiday classic, It’s A Wonderful Life, live musical performances by LA Music Academy Performers and country music artists Kellie Coffey and Star De Azlan, fun children’s activities including a cookie decorating station, photos with Santa, button making and complimentary holiday treats.
To raise money for the foster children, guests are invited to sponsor one of the 30,000 lights on the Christmas Tree representing a ray of hope for an abused or neglected child in LA County. All proceeds directly benefit CASA of Los Angeles. Light sponsorships are only $5.00. Reservations are not necessary. For more information, or to make a donation via phone, call CASA of Los Angeles at (323) 526-6329.
Do something worthwhile this Christmas season. Please come out and make a difference and put a smile on an innocent foster child’s face.

It’s great to see that Kimberly Caldwell is still performing! I read the story of her career starting from childhood in the new Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul book. She’s been through a lot and singing is her solace. I’m glad she still has it and hope she will for a long time!
