Hollywood & Highland Presents Live Art ‘07
For one day only, the Hollywood & Highland Center will present Live Art ‘07, a festival of art, music, film and photography on November 3rd. This free event will showcase the talents of various local artists who were discovered through Hollywood & Highland’s community portal, www.livelargehere.com.
A portion of the proceeds from all art sales at Live Art ‘07 will benefit the organization, Reaching to Embrace Arts (RTEA). A not-for-profit organization, part of RTEA’s mission is to adopt public schools and provide essential art supplies to harness and realize the creative potential of every student. RTEA seeks to bypass social and economic barriers by generating new opportunities to nurture creativity in the present while building skills for the future.
Truant Media (www.truantmedia.com) will curate the gallery portion of the event which will include pieces by Rory Wilson, Mark Owens, Kimme Buzzelli, Brandy Flower/Hit + Run, John Pham, Ben Loiz & Carolina Chaves, The Dutch Press, Richard Leigh/Grotesque, Katsuo, Michael Coleman and Imaginary Foundation.
The LA Weekly and Indie 103 FM will curate the musical portion of the festival with bands being selected from submissions found in the LiveLarge Here site. Midnight Movies has already been chosen for the headlining musical act and will take the stage at 9:00 pm. http://www.livelargehere.com/livelarge.php?category=music
Selected movies will be played on an endless loop on screens throughout the event selected by the editors of Moving Pictures magazine. http://www.livelargehere.com/livelarge.php?category=film
Photos selected by 944 Magazine editors have been getting exposure in the online gallery and a select few in the October and November issues of the magazine’s featured section, LIFE. The event will take place on level two in the outdoor courtyard of the Hollywood and Highland complex and will be open from 1:00 - 10:00 pm.
The center is located at the northwest corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
