Alive! Expo Green Pavilion produced by Mix Media Award Suites at The Sofitel Hotel, where celebrities “browse and borrow” jewelry for the red carpet and got pampered at this official Hollywood green event. Incorporating two elements, its Green Suites featured a myriad of health and wellness services and products and a Madison & Mulholland Swag Suite for the Alive!Expo Green Pavilion VIPS at the Sofitel Hotel.
This was the platform Kim Shimmel used to further her mission to bring awareness and education to the state of the environment. Combining media with celebrities, Kim wanted to provide a oppurtunity for small to midsize “green” companies to share their messages and get their products out to a wider audience.
Presented by Magnolia (high end home theatre company) and sponsored by Pioneer Elite, the event’s intent was not to be labeled just another “swag” suite. As the Mix Media Award Suites proudly hosted Aubrey Organics, Detox America, Vectrix Scooter, George Clooney’s Tango Commuter car, Magnolia and many others, the eco-friendly message definitely got out.
Even though these suites gave out some goodies to celebrities and the like, Kim’s directive was to build awareness for a more environmentally friendly planet. One of the first to go green with these types of events, Kim is a veteran in the industry who creates some of the most spectacular events.
Some celebrities spotted at this amazing event included, Cheryl Hines who enjoyed eco-friendly products from Aubrey Organics, as well as some ethically sourced jewelry from designer, Kirsten Muenster; David Boreanez and Hal Sparks who looked forward to the spa product they received from Detox America; Maria Menounos, received pampering from an on-site massage; Judd Nelson practically spent the entire day at the Pioneer Elite Plasma TV.
Although not in attendance, George Clooney was kind enough to lend his own Tango Commuter car for the green pavilion event, making it a hit among celebrities including Kenny Johnson, Chris MacDonald and Tim Daly; Tim Daly also loved Bare Foot Dreams’ ultra soft robe and the natural bath and body products from Get Fresh, as well as, of course, the Vectrix electric scooter, which was also a hit with Chris MacDonald.
Scott Baio had a great time at the suites and was very appreciative of everything he received, including some great baby organic products.

Though it was essentially designed for riding around your community and on smaller roads, the Vectrix does reach a top speed of 62 mph, and can go from 0-50 mph in 6.8 seconds with an average range of 40-60 on a single charge.
Comfortable seating two people, the Vectrix is completely emissions free and almost completely silent, as well as incredibly efficient.
Running solely on electricity, operating costs for this vehicle have been estimated at less than $2 a day. And with a battery pack that should last up to 10 years based on 5,000 miles a year, an onboard charger allows you to charge up your vehicle at any 110/220V electrical outlet in only 2-3 hours, making the Vectrix a convenient and practical choice for a daily commute, a ride to the train station or suburban office or even just for weekend fun at a lake or beach.
