Sony Introduces the Net-sharing CAM
With sites such as YouTube becoming a staple on the web, it seems video sharing will soon replace photo sharing. It’s reported that over 230 million videos are viewed online and with more than 150,000 videos being uploaded every day. With this statistic in mind, Sony saw an opportunity. Introducing their pocket-sized Net-sharing CAM, Sony is making it possible for social networkers and video bloggers to more easily load their videos for their chance at Internet fame. Available later this month, the Sony Net-sharing CAM will go for $200 with features including:
• Seamlessly uploads short video clips to the web, and snaps print-quality, 5-megapixel digital still photos.
• Weighs just 5 oz., making it extremely portable (only about 1 inch wide x 4 inches tall x 2 inches deep).
• It can record about five hours of web-ready video footage on a Memory Stick(tm) PRO Duo media card.
• Records video in the "web-ready" MPEG-4 recording format.
• Sports a distinctive "sharemark" button so users can easily "tag" or select video and photos they want to upload.
• Because the unit pre-formats videos for popular web-sharing sites, it is easy to access them and post videos, without having to down-convert or manipulate the footage beforehand.
• A built-in flash, 4x digital zoom and a 2.4-inch color LCD screen.
