Cash for your car

Dakota Ferreiro, a.k.a. “Miss Dakota” at the Hollywood and Las Vegas burlesque club Forty Deuce, brings her distinctive brand of performance skills off the stage and into the gym with “Burlesque Body by Dakota.” This combination burlesque, dance, and fitness routine offers several benefits. Sure, Burlesque Body by Dakota will help you slim down and tone your body, but that’s only the beginning. In the process, you’ll also inject some intrigue into your exercise regime, lose your inhibitions, gain confidence, learn to love your body, and pick up the classical art of burlesque, all at the same time. Even beginners will be able to join in on this entertaining, effective exercise.

Burlesque has surged in popularity in recent times, due in large part to clubs such as Forty Deuce and performers such as Miss Dakota, who have introduced the art of the tease to the masses. Prior to headlining at the clubs in Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Casino and Los Angeles, Miss Dakota trained extensively in all genres of dance, including dance, ballet, salsa, and flamenco, culminating in appearances at a string of high-profile A-list events. There was a birthday party for rock legend Sting, the M.A.C. Cosmetics spring launch, an event for the House of Campari with W magazine, and a party for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art thrown by Vogue magazine.

You can also catch Miss Dakota on air in Bravo’s docu-drama series “Forty Deuce,” directed by Zalman King and Maxim TV’s “The Girlie Show,” as well as a guest on several nationally aired shows, including “Oprah,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and Carson Daly’s “30 Seconds of LA.” Her skills as a dancer and a choreographer, in addition, earned her stints with major artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Gypsy Kings, Prince, George Michael, Maroon 5, and Marco Antonio Solis. Miss Dakota can lay claim to many film and commercial credits too.

Not bad for a girl of mixed (Puerto Rican and German) descent who grew up in the Bronx! But even from a young age, Dakota immersed herself in the performing arts under the tutelage of notable faculty at the Bronx Dance Theatre, Fieldston Arts Academy in New York, Lincoln High School for Performing Arts in Westchester, NY, David Mamet’s prestigious Atlantic Theatre Company, HB Studios in New York, Los Angeles acting coach Aaron Spieser, and world champion Latin and ballroom dancers at 5th Avenue studios.

You can sign up for the Burlesque Body Workout at gyms and private workshops in Studio City and Venice, with a Malibu branch opening soon. If you can’t make it to Southern California, however, stay tuned for a DVD version of the Burlesque Body, directed by acclaimed choreographer Cris Judd. Miss Dakota also has plans to host her own TV show, “What’s Your Tease? with Miss Dakota,” spotlighting the latest fitness trends and health pointers from Hollywood’s elite.
