First Paris Hilton, Now Lindsay Lohan Off to Jail?
Lindsay Lohan was arrested yet again early this morning in Santa Monica, adding to her previous charges for driving under the influence and misdemeanor hit and run in Beverly Hills in May. This scene mirrors the incident in May in that Lohan has been charged with a DUI again. This time, however, Lohan has been charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of narcotics! Officers at the scene reported that they found her blood alcohol level to be between a 0.12 and 0.13 (the legal limit is 0.08) and a ?usable amount? of cocaine in her pants pocket. She was later released on $25,000 bail.
The police were originally called to the scene because Lohan was angrily driving after her assistant, who had quit hours earlier and was going home with her mother. After she was released from jail, Lindsay checked herself into rehab again, though not at Promises in Beverly Hills, where she recently completed her 45 day rehabilitation course.
Lohan?s original DUI and hit and run charges from May each carry a 6 month maximum sentence, and possession of cocaine has a maximum of three years in jail. She is also accused of driving with a suspended license. Keep in mind that when perpetual Lohan ?frenemy? Paris Hilton was convicted for that same offense, she was sentenced to 45 days in jail. Judges aren?t sympathetic to arrestees who commit crimes so close together, nor have they been lax with celebrities recently (as we can see from Nicole Richie?s treatment after driving the wrong way down a Los Angeles freeway), so it is quite possible that Lindsay Lohan could be sentenced to a total of six years in jail.
Her arraignment date is set for August 24th.
