Extra TV’s America’s Most Eligible Bachelor: Philipp Karner
If you haven’t heard of Philipp Karner yet, be sure to keep your eyes and ears open. With his first starring role in a feature film alongside Tori spelling, the romantic comedy “Kiss The Bride” (2007) has catapulted Kamer into the limelight. In June 2007 in recognition of Kamer’s good looks and acting talent, Extra TV network executives gave Philipp the title of America’s Most Eligible Bachelor.
This hot young actor might look like the boy next door, but he was actually born and raised Vienna, Austria. He lived with his parents, and his younger brother and sister. His passion for acting began at age twelve when he was cast to play the young composer Johann Strauss in a mini-series. Working with John Gielgud was an unforgettable experience and Philipp was hooked on acting.
At nineteen he moved to New York City where he undertook intensive studies at the Lee Strasberg Institute. He went on to perform in off Broadway plays before moving on to small roles in “Sex in the City” and “The Sopranos”. Later, he moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue his career more fully. After the move Philip Karner has appeared on various TV shows including “Without A Trace,” “Will & Grace,” “CSI Miami” and “Everwood”.
He can next be seen as the lead in the horror trilogy “Arsenal”. Where the darker subject matter of the film will allow Karner to display his versatility and depth as an actor.
If you think the twenty-eight year old’s only real-life role is to play an ambitious young actor, think again. He does charity work as a celebrity spokesperson for Much Love Dog Rescue. He has two dogs of his own Milo and Jackson and recently became an uncle.
With additional recognition given by Vanity Fair as a young star to watch, it’s safe to say that Philip Karner is a hot and up & coming actor.
