Shakespeare in the Park

shakespeareStarting July 21 Classical Theatre Lab will be performing Shakespeare’s comedy “Two Gentlemen of Verona”, free of charge. Classical Theatre Lab has partnered up with Cedarburg Productions and the City of West Hollywood to provide this free event. 
“Two Gentlemen of Verona” centers around Valentine and Proteus, both of which have a lovely lady to call their own. Tension arises when Proteus begins to desire Silvia, his loyal friend Valentine’s love. Julia discovers Proteus’s intended infidelity while in disguise. So how will it end? Happy of course, it is a comedy.
The play which has been produced very rarely locally, will take place at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood CA 90046 at Martel, in the Fiesta Hall Courtyard, July 21, 22, 28, 29, Saturdays and Sundays at 5 p.m. Also at West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069, opposite the Pacific Design Center, in the Robertson Courtyard behind the playground on August 4,5,11, and 12 at 5 p.m.
The cast includes (in alphabetical order): Julie Alexander, Serena Berne, Karin de la Penha, Annunziata Gianzero, Stuart W. Howard, Summer Sinclair, Michael Matthys, Steve Moramarco, Barry Saltzman, Alexander Wells, Brad Wilcox, Miles Wiltshire, with Lucca the dog.
Stuart W. Howard directs. His previous directing credits with Classical Theatre Lab include “Coriolanus”, “The Tempest”, “Philoctetes”, “Cymbeline”, “Tis’ a Pity She’s a Whore”, “The Libertine”, and “Timon of Athens”. appeared as an actor in over 90 productions across the country. He is currently Stage Manager of the TV series Days of Our Lives. Stuart is a member of the Directors’ Guild of America.
