Elmer Ave Clothing Combines Classic Rat-Pack Chic with Rock n? Roll Cool

Before heading out to the fashion show on Monday evening, I ventured to envision the type of clothing that would emerge from the creative group mind of pro-skateboarders turned Rock and Roll band turned clothing designers. I anticipated seeing coordinated flannels and oversized jeans at the Elmer Ave fashion party. I could not have been less astute (or more dated) in my assumption. Elmer Ave clothing proves itself as one the freshest trends in men’s clothing.

Elmer Ave Clothing, Les Deux

The party, held at the beautiful Les Deux café in Hollywood, was the perfect backdrop for showcasing this uber cool fashion line. Think classic blazers emboldened with horizontal and vertical white lines, gothic crosses and electric guitars. Skinny jeans, finely embroidered black satin shirts, cardigans paired with dress shirts. Geek turned ultra hip. Needless to say, a far cry from flannel.

I found the use of different materials quite novel and exciting. How often does one get the opportunity to purchase a rich velvet blazer, or a finely tailored camouflage dress shirt? One of the most impressive features of the Elmer Ave line is the Custom Collection, which features vintage pieces that are hand deconstructed, hand painted and hand embellished. This personal care and attention to detail is exactly what makes this clothing line such a treat. How long has it been since you last wore a hand tailored suit with unmistakable personality?

Elmer Ave provides clothing for every outing – from casual tee shirts and leather jackets to full three-piece suit vests. Couple one of their fabulous tee shirts with a pair of jeans for a casual coffee date, swing into a leather jacket before heading out on your motorcycle, or dress up for dinner in a head-turning custom made suit. Trust me, nothing captures a woman’s attention more completely than a well dressed man. This is the type of clothing that gets you noticed. A new favorite, Elmer Ave’s unique designs were featured on America’s Top Model and are regularly worn on the red carpet by fans Tommy Lee and the gentlemen of The Black Eyed Peas.
Motley BirdThe show, hosted by Peroni beer, Marani Vodka and Motley Bird energy drink, proved a success as the models made their way through the crowd, dancing to the eclectic 80’s beats. Guests rocked out to Canadian band The Scene while designers Jonny Day, Ward Robinson, Collin Pulsipher and Sean Murphy mingled jovially with Elmer Ave enthusiasts. Like their clothing, these designers are youthful, approachable and oh so chic. It was a Monday night well spent.
