The stars were out at The Silver Spoon MTV Movie Awards Hollywood Buffet on Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st. Held at a beautiful Beverly Hills estate, the event went green with an emphasis placed upon natural and environmentally friendly products and services. Proceeds were raised for the Environmental Media Association (EMA), a non-profit organization that focuses on gaining the support of the entertainment industry in a world-wide endeavor to educate people about environmental issues and influence action.
At the Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffet, guests could pick and choose from the hottest gifts before hitting the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. Honored to host the event, Silver Spoon catered to their guests with the latest fashions from Gypsy 05 (high end t-shirts for men and women), products from Conair (the Infiniti Cordless Straightner), and products from Aveda (environmentally friendly make-up and hair-care).
Many celebrities attended the event including: Shar Jackson (“The Ex-Wives Club”), Kate Flannery (“The Office”), DJ AM, Haylie Duff (“7th Heaven”), Deidre Hall (“Days of Our Lives”), Alexa Vega (“Spy Kids”), Chris Judd, James Kyson Lee (“Heroes”), Niecy Nash (“Reno 911”), Melanie Brown (Spice Girls), and many more.
We were lucky enough to catch up with the beautiful and down to earth, Shar Jackson who talked about her new ABC show, “The Ex-Wives Club”. She told us how much she loved working alongside Angie Everheart and Marla Maples to help mend the broken hearts of real people who have undergone traumatic break-ups and divorces. They help these individuals get even with their exes. Aside from television, Shar enjoys singing and even sang a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” to the LA’s The Place publisher, Jane Emery! We also met with David Weintraub; one of the stars of the A&E hit show, “Sons of Hollywood”. He too discussed his passion for working on the series with childhood friends, Randy Spelling and Sean Stewart. We also look forward to a feature interview article with David Weintraub and the guys in the near future.
Guests were introduced to a variety of designer clothing and accessories including hip active wear from Mocha Fashion. Designer Moran Dahan of Mocha Fashion believes in combining style, comfort, and colors into fashion. Fashion Forms lingerie accessories were also on hand at the event. Stars were able to pick up samples of their adhesive bras and the NuBra Ultralite which is a bra with soft and natural foam cups that are molded and invisible under sheer clothing. Summer is all about hot swim suits and at the Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffet, stars were introduced to L *Space swimwear. Each of the pieces is brightly colored and perfect for summer.
Celebrities also picked up fashions from Soul Revival known for its beautiful embroidered and embellished t-shirts and tanks. Holly Moore, Soul Revival’s designer, blends vintage design with contemporary silhouette. These pieces are each unique with hand-drawn designs that are custom dyed as well.
Sterling and vermeil jewelry designs from Rebecca Norman were also available. These gorgeous designs include silver and vermeil, bangles, drop earrings, hoops, necklaces, bracelets, fine jewelry, and menswear. Stars also tested the latest luxury products and beauty brands. Namely, they were able to receive massages and facials from the spa and pilates studio, Allure Pilates Spa. This spa and pilates studio maintains its motto, “Body and face all in one place”. CEO Anita Neumann had already 21 fitness and physical therapy centers to her name but she wanted to create a place where clients could exercise, receive massages and skin treatments, while maintaining the feeling of a spa and fitness club.
Aveda offered its hair care products with an onsite stylist and makeup artist for that red carpet look. Keeping with the theme of going green, Aveda was one of the first lines to do so. Horst M. Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda believes, “Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility—not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.” Each of Aveda’s products contain “Green Ingredients” which are biodegradable, animal-friendly, originate from renewable, sustainable, or organic plant-based sources, and much more.
Taste-buds were satisfied poolside with the most delicious appetizers from what will be the new Hollywood hotspot, Ritual Restaurant and Nightclub opening this June. Attendees also enjoyed the Korean BBQ company Appa BBQ who grilled on state of the art barbeques from Emme Design.
Then it was back to the event where stars could go into the virtual photo booth Get Flipped! Get Flipped! is a California-based software development company. The software snaps two photos and then combines the images and prints out one photo. An adhesive lens is then placed over the image creating an animated flip photo. You can blow a kiss, making silly faces, and so much more. Their clients include, MGM Grand, Mercedes Benz, Warner Brothers, MTV, Paris Hilton and Justin Timberlake just to name a few.
