NBC Universal, Music Choice

NBC Universal On Demand has joined with Music Choice to offer a ‘Music & Movies’ Video On Demand category featuring music artists starring in films premiering On Demand starting May 31st. The dual star line-up includes Justin Timberlake in "Alpha Dog," Alicia Keys in "Smokin’ Aces" and Mandy Moore in "Because I Said So."

Content for the ‘Music & Movies’ category will include the films and music videos from each of the featured artists. Music Choice, the #1 Video On Demand programmer, will be the exclusive provider of the music videos from each artist to watch Free On Demand (FOD). Additional FOD content includes, "The Line-Up," a look at the star-studded cast of "Smokin’ Aces," "A Cautionary Tale – The Making of Alpha Dog" and "World Spins Madly On," a montage of film clips from "Because I Said So" set to music by The Weepies. Viewers can access the ‘Music & Movies’ category via their On Demand menu, available through participating cable providers. All the films premiering can be accessed through On Demand and Pay-Per-View (PPV).

"Smokin’ Aces" premieres May 31st and includes bonus outtakes after the film credits that were too outrageous for theaters. Full of high adrenaline action, the movie tells the story of a slick Las Vegas illusionist Buddy "Aces" Israel who is telling mob secrets to the FBI. After a $1 million contract is put out on him, Aces attempts to pull his greatest disappearing act yet, before a rogues’ gallery of ex-cons, hit men and smokin’ hot assassins coldly eager to rub him out. This dark action comedy stars an excellent ensemble cast including Jeremy Piven, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keys, Jason Bateman and Ray Liotta. Music Choice will provide two of Alicia Keys’ videos as part of the ‘Music & Movies’ content – "If I Ain’t Got You," and "Karma."

On June 14th, "Alpha Dog" makes its On Demand debut. This gritty and emotional film, inspired by the real-life story, depicts a group of friends growing up together in the suburbs of LA, living their own warped version of the American dream, with every day an inebriated thrill seeking blur. Johnny (Emile Hirsch, "Lords of Dogtown") is the leader in their sordid world of drugs, greed, power and privilege. When he is double-crossed by another dealer, things quickly begin to spiral out of control, and an impulsive kidnapping leads to a shocking conclusion. Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis co-star in this powerful and controversial film. Two of JustinTimberlake’s most popular videos, "Sexyback" and "What Goes Around" will be included in the Music Choice FOD content.

June 22nd marks the On Demand premiere of "Because I Said So." Academy Award-winning actress Diane Keaton stars with Mandy Moore, Lauren Graham and Piper Perabo in this heartwarming comedy about mothers, daughters and cutting the apron strings. When it comes to her three free-spirited daughters, Daphne (Keaton) is just your normal overprotective, overbearing, over-the-top mother. Concerned that her youngest daughter, Millie (Moore), will end up alone, Daphne meddles in her daughter’s love life until she ends up doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons, all in the name of motherly love. Mandy Moore’s "In My Pocket" and "So Real" will also be included in Music Choice’s free music content.

Additional titles premiering in June include "Big Bad Wolf," "The Hitcher" and "The Secret Life of Words." "Big Bad Wolf" makes its VOD and PPV debut in High Definition (HD) on the same date of its availability on DVD, June 5th. A wild college party in a remote cabin goes horribly wrong when Derek Cowley and his friends find themselves terrorized by a bloodthirsty werewolf. While fighting for his life, Derek discovers a shocking and horrifying secret about the monster he must kill to survive. Featuring a clever and sadistically funny breed of werewolf unlike any you’ve ever seen, "Big Bad Wolf" is one terrifying horror film.

"The Hitcher" premieres on June 14th with a too-chilling-for theaters alternative ending after the credits roll (not available in all systems). In this intense thriller, a road trip road trip takes a deadly turn when a young couple (Sophia Bush and Zachary Knighton) is tormented by a psychotic hitchhiker (Sean Bean) who forces them to face their fears head-on.

On June 21st, "The Secret Life of Words" premieres. Tim Robbins stars in this compelling film from Pedro Almodovar, the renowned director of "Volver" and "Talk to Her." Masterfully acted and critically acclaimed, the film is a moving story about discovering love and hope when and where least expected. A wounded oil worker’s need to divulge his secrets creates an unlikely and emotional bond with a nurse who is mysteriously silent about her own identity.
