Cassandra Hepburn hosts “Fashion and Music Extravaganza” in the Fight for Human Rights

Well over a dozen of Hollywood’s latest and greatest upcoming television and movie stars gathered at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood last Saturday for an event geared towards a good cause and nothing short of magnificent in glamour and entertainment.
Spearheaded and hosted by highly acclaimed model, film and television actress Cassandra Hepburn, the Fashion and Music Extravaganza was an event created to raise awareness about human rights throughout the world, working in conjunction with, among others, the Youth for Human Rights International, a group that spans across 62 countries and established to encourage action and understanding in the necessity to advocate human rights through younger generations, lead by longtime human rights advocate Mary Shuttleworth.
The Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts was also a major partner in the Fashion and Music Extravaganza, as 60 of their finest aspiring actors and models participated in a heavily choreographed and prestigious fashion show held in The Garden Pavilion at the Celebrity Centre International, sporting styles from five of LA’s hottest fashion designers such as Thomas DeVette Fashion, Mark Gray T-shirt Collection, True Custom Collection and the Fifi Leroux Collection. Many of these young models also walked the runway in a variety of new and innovative jewelry wear provided by the Terry K Jewelry Collection. Much of the fashion designs displayed by the models revealed an overall very sleek and trendy low-cut look, with outfits ranging from casual two piece jeans and t-shirts with new twists, to smooth, one-piece formal dresses revealing slightly more skin yet maintaining grace, elegance and sex appeal in one unique look.
Among the celebrities attending the event included Randy Wayne (The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning and Dream Boy), CJ Sanders (Sag/NAACP Image Award Nominee for "Ray"), Dominic Daniel (Disturbia and Freedom Writers), Darin Brooks (Days of Our Lives), Lorielle New (Postal and Big Top), Matthew Josten (Meet the Robinsons), Matthew Underwood (Zoey 101), Sam Sarpong (Everybody Hates Chris and MTVís "Yo Mamma"), Terrence Edmonds (Zoey 101), Maggie Wagner (American Cowslip and Marked), Bridgetta Tomarchio (The Bronx is Burning and Merch TV) and seaQuest DSV legend Dustin Nguyen and his wife former actress and model Angela Rockwood-Nguyen.
Live music was also provided by the award winning rock group Curtis Murphy Syndicate, which played various upbeat and casual hits from their self-titled album, including the song "Take a Little While". The fashion show itself began with an unexpected surprise, as Shuttleworth made an initial announcement that it was Hepburn’s birthday, at which point flowers and a very welcoming "happy birthday" song was sung by the entire crowd in honor of the trailblazing star.
Other honored guests included Yuka Kawahito, an international student from Japan who received an award for her dedication to humanitarian causes, and honorary celebrity guest and excelled actor Michael Cory Davis, a man who has dedicated much of his efforts in bringing awareness to human trafficking and promoting equal rights for women, as such is emphasized in his newest film "Svetlana’s Journey", making his directorial debut with a film based on the life of a 13 year old Bulgarian girl’s story of abduction.
Another live performance at the show included the Kids on Stage for a Better World, a multicultural dance and music group based at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International and dedicated to communicating the importance of understanding and trust between people of all races through their highly choreographed and elaborate performances.
The show was an overall success, with hundreds crowded into the Garden Pavilion and dozens of others standing by the doors, enamored by the performances of the young models and for the humanitarian causes for which much of the efforts were put fourth. Major contributors to the event included Doll Face Natural Beauty Cocktails, Ton Savon Private Label Bath & Beauty, Lucchese, Metromint, Bed Head Tigi, Pop Packaging Inc, Twig Soap and Face2Face Entertainment, with 20% of the products sold outside the Pavilion were committed towards the human rights movement.
