iPEC Coaching: A Path to Realizing Your Personal and Professional Potential

iPEC CoachingLife coach: you may have heard of the term and given the idea some thought. But this rapidly growing field has already taken on a wide variety of applications in day-to-day events and situations. Traditionally, coaches have been called on for help with finding a purpose or balance in life, such as with couples or groups, as well as in areas as diverse as spiritual awareness, personal finance, and parenting. Professionals and businesspeople have also sought coaches to aid with achieving goals in team building, establishing diversity, and strategic planning, to name just a few categories. Whichever emphasis you choose, iPEC offers an opportunity in mastery of all of the above in its Core Energy Coaching Process program.

Bruce SchneiderDeveloped by Bruce D. Schneider, M.C.C., the Core Energy Coaching Process takes a new tact from approaches of the past. Where traditional coaching set out to change a person’s actions in order to reach their goals, the program developed by Schneider shifts the emphasis to the client’s mental processes. The aim of Core Energy Coaching is to change the way a client thinks and feels, freeing them from limiting and self-defeating beliefs in favor of support and encouragement, inspiring them to take charge of their lives. These effects are not limited to the client alone; the coach will frequently get a taste of the benefits as well.

Some people might say that you’re born a coach, and certainly, some personalities are more attuned to this profession, which requires you to listen to and observe others, assimilate a large amount of information, consider the situation, and then finally to advise the client. But as with nearly any set of skills, there’s always room for improvement or, as in the case of a discipline as new as coaching, opportunity to immerse yourself in the training to hone these natural talents. iPEC Coaching supports you every step of the way in your own development, with a program that encompasses in-class modules, live weekly teleclasses, one-to-one mentor coaching, business development coaching, group work, home study, and several hours of coaching practice, as both a coach and a client.

Your iPEC training begins upon registration, as you reflect upon your life and create a clear focus toward what you want to achieve as a coach and as a person. iPEC Coaching offers a lot of assistance in this process, so you can most benefit from the training and certification program. From there, you’ll proceed to iPEC’s live modules of learning, which are all-day intensive programs that provide information, experience, and practice, all in an encouraging and supportive environment. You’ll take in this information through a variety of media: presentations, group work, videos, written assignments, role playing, modeling, and coaching simulations.

Module I: Theory and Foundation serves as an introduction to the basics of iPEC, including its coaching principles, skill sets, and processes. Some of the topics in Module I include the basics of Core Energy Coaching (functions/possibilities for you as a coaching professional, ethics and standards of conduct for a professional coach, the coaching process), the qualities of a Core Energy Coach, and the coach-client relationship (the initial meeting, the coaching agreement, ethics, expectations, tools). Though the module is designed to impart to you the skills needed to become a successful coach, it is also your opportunity to evaluate iPEC’s Core Energy Coaching for yourself. As you start your journey into coaching, you’ll also get the chance to experience the impact of these skills on your own life, and in turn, you’ll later draw on these techniques when it’s time for you to start seeing clients.

Module II: Skill Set Development and Utilization builds on the skills imparted in the first module, taking you deeper into the potentials of coaching for couples, families, and groups, as well as for corporate/business or personal/life goals. You’ll also advance your coaching skills, learning how to work through resistance, access your "higher coach," and coach the whole person. Last but not least, you’ll find out how to administer this knowledge to eight areas as they relate to the client.

Finally, Module III: Coaching Mastery, caps off the three-day live program. You’ll forge ahead in developing your skills in your area of emphasis, and you’ll get to practice your coaching skills on several more occasions. This last module will add another dimension to your training: exposure to the business side of coaching, including techniques for developing and marketing yourself to achieve a successful practice.

There is even a graduate level course called Energy Leadership, which is open to coaches from all accredited training programs. The Energy Leadership program includes additional certification as an Energy Leadership professional, and the ability to use an assessment (the Energy Leadership Index), as well as a debrief and coaching process that is unique and exceptionally powerful for leaders in all walks of life, including managers, parents, entrepreneurs, and others.

Many graduates of iPEC Coaching have gone on to both personal and professional success. There’s Lynne Goldberg, who landed a slot on a Court TV show after her training; Sue Nodine, who helped one company replace its performance review process and increased its personnel count by 40%; numerous six-figure coaches who work in the general public (life coaches), small businesses, and corporate (both as internal and external coaches). Eighty-five percent of iPEC students already count several paying clients before they even graduated.

Those are iPEC’s more visible success stories; just as notable, however, are the legions of graduates (nearly 2,000 in all so far) who’ve found rewarding work and meaningful knowledge using the tools they acquired with iPEC.

iPEC has made it easier and more convenient than ever before to discover the power of coaching. Live training is available in 10 cities: Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Edison, NJ; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Providence, RI; San Jose, CA; San Juan, PR; and Tampa Bay, FL. iPEC also understands how important time is to you, so the organization maximizes your coaching training hours while minimizing your time commitment. By the time you complete the program, you’ll have logged 320-plus hours of training, yet you can graduate in as little as seven months, without sacrificing the pleasures of your day-to-day life during training. Furthermore, iPEC has been accredited by the International Coach Federation since January 2002.

Software engineers, environmental specialists, and even dog walkers–professions that our parents and grandparents would never have had the chance to consider. Add to this list the role of life coach. Just as people look to, for example, a personal trainer for a helping hand in reaching their goals, those same citizens are now searching for guides in their personal lives as well. Average citizens are no longer satisfied with the daily grind; rather, they want to know how they can make the most of their lives, both at the office and at home. For these strivers, a life coach can make a difference between making a living and making a life, but these benefits are not exclusive to those who seek the services. Life coaches themselves are picking up on the same strengths they pass on to their clients, and iPEC Coaching is leading the charge with its Core Energy Coaching Process.
