Babel won best drama and Dreamgirls was named best musical or comedy film at Monday’s Golden Globe Awards.

Martin Scorsese won for Best Director – Motion Picture

Forest Whitaker won for best dramatic actor as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland. Helen Mirren won best actress in a motion picture for "The Queen" and best actress in a TV movie or miniseries for Elizabeth I.

Actress Meryl Streep won her sixth Golden Globe for best actress in a movie musical or comedy for her role as a wicked fashion editor in The Devil Wears Prada.

Best actor in a film musical or comedy went to Sacha Baron Cohen for his portrayal of Borat.

Eddie Murphy and fIlm newcomer Jennifer Hudson won Golden Globes for supporting roles in Dreamgirls, which was nominated for five categories.

Grey’s Anatomy was named the best drama series on television, while underdog Ugly Betty was named the best TV comedy.
